In December 2020, BAC sent a letter to each Provincial Premiere, Minister of Health, Public Health Agency and Provincial Ministries responsible for food production regarding the need to prioritize vaccination of food workers including bakers.  To our knowledge there has not been any specific declaration regarding the prioritization of food production workers by the provinces.  However we do believe the provinces are following federal guidance on the prioritization and as such food workers fall into the category of essential workers under the federal government’s Guidance on the prioritization of initial doses of COVID-19 vaccine(s).  This guidance has essential workers being prioritized in Stage 2 .
