Master Baker | Windmill Bakery & Bistro

We are looking for a skilled Master Baker able to:
Prepare a variety of European and other styles of artisanal breads, pan breads and pastries according to our recipes and formulas;

Prepare doughs by hand and operate tools and equipment;
Ensure quality of products meet established standards in a timely and cost-effective manner, following all required levels of hygiene and safety standards;
Draw up and work according to a tight production schedule to determine type and quantity of goods to produce;
Fulfill wholesale and retail orders and front shop requirements;
Train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff as needed, working at times independently and as part of a team;
Proactively monitor ingredients and prepare orders for new supplies as necessary.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Working hours are on nights, and include weekends between 12:00 am and 12:00 pm.

Wage is $20.00 per hour.

Skill requirements:
Education required is the completion of a college or similar program for bakers with a 3 to 4-year apprenticeship program as a baker;
An additional asset is the completion of a college or similar program as a Master baker;
Work experience required is at least 5 years working as a baker in a variety of bakery settings; Additional experience working as a Master baker is considered an asset;
Training or experience in European skills of baking is very valuable as these skills are essential to the operation of the bakery;
A clean driving record, a certificate of good conduct, and a good working knowledge of the English language are required;
Computer skills in Microsoft Office or similar are considered assets.

Baking Assisting Partner | La Focacceria

We are looking for a Full-Time Baking Partner to join our Fort Langley team. In your role, as a Lead Baker – Partner, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the bakery operations, helping mentor our team to success, and developing a lasting relationship with the community you work in.

Your Role at La Focacceria:
-Partnering with the bakery owner to overseeing the daily operations
-Having autonomy and trust to create efficiencies and the confidence to implement change (There’s no hand-holding necessary here!)
-Mentoring and coaching our small team of people to success
-Ensuring quality of product from start to finish; working with other team members to help prepare and bake a small line of Italian baked goods (from scratch!)
-Familiarizing yourself with the product recipes to be able to deliver quality bakes
-Being responsible for safe food handling and keeping prep stations clean as per food-safe standards
-Working quickly and efficiently to keep up with the demands of the baking schedule
-Occasional customer service: Food handling; preparing sandwiches, slicing and packaging baked goods
