Lactalis Canada reopens Sudbury, Ont., as dedicated plant-based facility

Sudbury, Ont. – Lactalis Canada recently held a special event to celebrate the reopening of its Sudbury, Ont, site, where the company’s new plant-based Enjoy! brand is produced.

The event included an employee celebration and festivities, a tree-planting ceremony and remarks from Lactalis Canada president and CEO Mark Taylor and other company executives, government and community partners.

Established in 1962 and located at 500 Barry Downe Road, Lactalis Canada’s Sudbury facility was a fully operational milk processing plant for six decades. In 2022, Lactalis Canada began renovation to convert the site into a 33,150-square-foot plant-based facility. The plant reopened in April 2024 and is now Lactalis Canada’s first dedicated plant-based facility and home to its new plant-based Enjoy! brand, an unsweetened, high-protein line of plant-based beverages.
